Sacks for Cash back for 2010 Season of Redemption
April 1, 2010 - Indoor Football League (IFL)
Sioux Falls Storm News Release
In 2009 Cory Johnsen approached his boss's, Tom Junck and Jeff Carlson, from Combined Pool and Spa and asked them if they would be interested in doing a donation for every sack he had during the 2009 season. They without any hesitation agreed to $50 per sack to a local agency of his choosing.
"I went with Volunteers of America because I worked there and I know what there agency is all about, helping people who need help", said Cory. Cory finished the 2009 Season with 11.5 sacks, which put him tied for 3rd in the League and raised $575.
"For 2010, Combined Pool and Spa is on-board, and I would like to get many other businesses involved. I want to create a charitable group that helps out local agencies. The entire premise of the foundation is going to be based on the "Sacks for Cash" slogan I started in 2009. I want to raise money for a good cause. Volunteers of America has always had a special spot in my heart and I want to continue helping them out in anyway I can," stated Cory Johnsen.
