Sabrina Ionescu Named Kia WNBA Eastern Conference Player of the Month for August

NEW YORK - The WNBA announced today that New York Liberty guard Sabrina Ionescu has been named the Kia WNBA Eastern Conference Player of the Month for August; her second monthly honor this season (June 2022) and sixth total award of the year (four-time Eastern Conference Player of the Week).
Ionescu led New York to a 5-2 finish in the month of August where the Liberty revived and realized their playoff aspirations, securing the No. 7 seed in the 2022 WNBA Playoffs on August 14.
Sabrina averaged 19.4 points, 6.9 rebounds, 5.6 assists and 1.1 steals per game on 41.9% (44-105) shooting from the field, including two games of 30-plus points, through New York's seven-game August slate.
Today, Ionescu became just the second player in Liberty franchise history to garner multiple Eastern Conference Player of the Month honors in the same season, joining Tina Charles (2016 and 2017).
