SaberCats place Hundon on IR, activate Schexnayder

SAN JOSE, Calif. (May 15, 2004) - Offensive specialist James Hundon, the SaberCats' leading receiver, was today placed on the club's injured reserve list and receiver/linebacker Calvin Schexnayder was activated to fill his roster spot, announced General Manager Terry Malley.
Hundon (6-1, 176, Portland State) sustained a renal contusion in last week's game at Arizona and will be sidelined for a minimum of two weeks. He leads the SaberCats with 79 receptions for 1,170 yards and also has 19 touchdowns.
The fourth-year veteran is San Jose's all-time leader in receiving yardage (4,565) and needs just one catch to become the third player in franchise history with 300 career receptions.
Schexnayder (6-0, 190, Washington State) has missed the last nine games after sustaining a fractured fibula in a game at New York on March 7. He has five catches for 75 yards and two touchdowns while playing in the SaberCats first four games of the year.
San Jose closes out its regular season road schedule on Sunday, May 16 with a game at Las Vegas. The game will be televised live in the Bay Area at 3:00 p.m. on KNTV (NBC11).
The SaberCats return to HP Pavilion on Saturday, May 22, when they entertain Jon Bon Jovi's Philadelphia Soul and close out the season on Sunday, May 30 when they entertain the Arizona Rattlers.
