
New Orleans VooDoo Clinches Playoff Spot With 44-40 Win Over Georgia Force

In front of a crowd of 15,935 in the New Orleans Arena the New Orleans VooDoo (10-4) secured a spot in the playoffs with a victory over the Georgia Force (5-9), also becoming the first expansion team in the history of the Arena Football League to win 10 games in a season.
New Orleans FB/LB Dan Curran's two-yard touchdown run with 44 seconds remaining in the game put New Orleans ahead for good. Curran had 24 rushing yards with three touchdowns, hitting the 300-yard mark for the season and becoming only the fourth player in AFL history to score 20 rushing touchdowns in a season.
New Orleans VooDoo QB John Fitzgerald was 22-of-38 for 210 yards with three touchdown passes and 1 interception. VooDoo OS Aaron Bailey had nine receptions for 124 yards with three touchdowns.
Georgia QB Leon Murray was 15-of-21 for 192 yards with three touchdowns, but threw three costly interceptions including two to VooDoo DS Monty Montgomery. Murray was the game's leading rusher with four carries for 33 yards with two touchdowns.
