
SaberCats make roster moves

SAN JOSE, Calif. (April 1, 2006) - The San Jose SaberCats made several roster moves in preparation for their Arena Football League game with the Arizona Rattlers on Sunday. The club activated rookie FB/LB JaJuan Huddleston, WR/DB Rodney Wright and OL/DL Chuck Reed from injured and released OL/DL Nikia Adderson from the active roster.
One of San Jose's most valuable all-purpose players, Wright (5-9, 181) returns to the SaberCats lineup after sustaining an injury in the first game of the season. Wright played in 12 games last year, his rookie season, and finished the season 3rd on the team in receptions (59), yards (678), TDs (8) and all-purpose yards (1,293).
Huddleston (6-2, 255) saw action in the SaberCats first game of the season before being placed on injured reserve. The former Fresno State player recorded 3.5 tackles and half a quarterback sack against Utah on Jan. 28 before sustaining a finger injury.
Now in his fifth year with the SaberCats and his 11th in the AFL Reed (6-2, 299) returns to the active roster after missing the last four games. Reed has played in four games this season and 44 during his SaberCats career.
To make room on the active roster the SaberCats placed linemen Julius Gant (quad) and Van Brown (elbow), and WR/LB Kevin McKenzie (ankle) on injured reserve.
The SaberCats continue their 12th season in the Arena Football League on Sunday, April 2 against the Arizona Rattlers. Bay Area rock band Third Eye Blind will treat Arena Football League fans to a post game concert following Sunday's 3:00 p.m. game at HP Pavilion.
