SABERCATS (10-2) at Arizona Rattlers (8-5) Sunday, May 9, 2004, 12:00 p.m. (PT)

TV: The game will be shown regionally on NBC and can be seen in the Bay Area on KNTV (NBC11), in Sacramento on KCRA and in Salinas/Monterey on KSBW. Eli Gold will call the play-by-play with Charles Davis supplying the commentary.

RADIO: San Jose's flagship radio station KNBR 1050 AM will carry the game live. Bob Fitzgerald and George Atkinson bring all the action beginning at 11:30 a.m. with a half hour pre-game show.

THE GAME: The second-longest running rivalry in the Arena Football League continues when the SaberCats face the Arizona Rattlers for the 22nd time. Arizona leads the series 11-10 and holds a 10-8 advantage in regular season games. The Rattlers are 5-3 against San Jose at America West Arena but the SaberCats have won three of the last four played in the desert.

PLAYOFF PICTURE: The SaberCats can clinch their fifth consecutive playoff berth and eighth in the team's 1o-year history with a win over the Rattlers. San Jose can also clinch a spot with a Dallas loss OR a loss this week by New York AND Los Angeles.

THAT 70's SHOW: With a win at Arizona, San Jose would not only even the all-time series with the Rattlers at 11-11, but SaberCats head coach DARREN ARBET would also earn his 70th career win, making him the eighth head coach to reach the milestone.

WAGNER WATCH: San Jose WR/DB Barry Wagner is closing in on the AFL's career record for receptions and receiving yards. With 27 receptions for 288 yards on the season, Wagner has upped his career totals to 920 and 12,650. Arizona's Hunkie Cooper also ranks in the top five in both career categories.
