Ryan Boyle Named Offensive Player of the Week

Philadelphia, PA (June 5, 2007) - 2006 Major League Lacrosse Champions, the Philadelphia Barrage, announced today that attackman Ryan Boyle received the MLL's Offensive Player of the Week award for Week 3. He recorded nine points in a 21-17 win over the Rochester Rattlers on Saturday, scoring four goals, one of which was a two-pointer, the first of his career. He also had four assists en route to a Bud Light Game MVP performance.

Boyle shined in the second half of Saturday's game. Three of Boyle's goals came in the fourth quarter as the Rattlers were closing in on the Barrage's eight-goal lead. His two-point goal came with one minute left in the game after the Rattlers closed the gap to two points.

Boyle is currently ranked eighth in the league in scoring, leading the Barrage with six goals and seven assists. This is his first award of the season, and the third of his career. Last year, he won his first Player of the Week award also against the Rochester Rattlers in Week 1.

The Barrage take the field again Saturday, June 9 against rivals the Boston Cannons at the United Sports Training Center in Downingtown, Pa.
