NEW YORK - Russell Athletic, one of the world's leading sports apparel companies, is the new Official Uniform Supplier for the Arena Football League beginning in 2007, both organizations jointly announced today. Terms of the agreement were not disclosed.

The three-year agreement, which also includes commitments to media, sponsorship community relations and youth football, allows Russell to outfit all AFL teams with a choice of four jersey styles, including the state-of-the-art Xtreme Compression version, which is the most performance enhancing uniform in football.

The innovative XC jersey includes compression fit material that is difficult to grab, ventilator technology to accelerate body cooling, Dri-Power(r) technology to wick moisture away from the body, and Anti-Microbial technology to help eliminate odor.

"We are thrilled about our partnership with the Arena Football League," said Russell President DOUG KELLY. "Our alliance with such a well respected organization like the AFL will afford Russell Athletic the opportunity to showcase our state-of-the-art XC no grab football jerseys on some of professional football's finest athletes as well as interact with their ever growing fan base across the country."

In addition to jerseys, Russell will produce pants, gloves, practice and compression wear, coaches shirts and sideline hats for AFL teams. They will also supply jerseys, coaches shirts and sideline hats for retail. Russell will receive the rights to use AFL logos and marks to market their products and in-arena promotion during the AFL regular season and playoffs.

"I am excited about the state-of-the-art uniforms, but even more so about how this partnership will positively affect our communities."

Community relations and youth football programs will be a cornerstone element of the partnership.
