Chicago Rush News Release

The Chicago Rush announced today it has released kicker Keith Gispert.

"We all will miss Keith," said Rush head coach Mike Hohensee. "He is a true professional and always conducted himself in a way that reflected positively on the organization."

Gispert was the longest tenured kicker in team history, beginning his career with the Rush in 2003. In his four seasons in Chicago, he played in 50 games and connected on 273 of 317 extra point attempts (86.1%) and 38 of 74 field goal attempts (51.4%).

After missing the first eight games of the 2006 season with a leg injury, Gispert returned to the lineup March 26 vs. Grand Rapids. In his five games this season, he connected on 24 of 27 PATs, and converted six of 13 field goals, but had missed seven of his last eight field goal attempts.

Chicago travels to Atlanta this Saturday, April 29, at 6 p.m. to play the defending National Conference champion Georgia Force. The team returns home to Allstate Arena to play Utah on Saturday May 6, in Chicago's final regular season home game of the season. Fans wishing to purchase tickets to the Utah game may order by calling Ticketmaster at (312) 559-1212, or by visiting the Ticketmaster Web site at www.ticketmaster.com.
