Rapid City Rush News Release

(Rapid City, SD) - The Rapid City Rush took time out of their busy schedule on Sunday to wrap gifts for students from Canyon Lake Elementary. The gathering was hosted by Rush season ticket holders Linda and Ron Rydstrom and included all Rush players and their families.

"I'm so happy to have the opportunity to brighten the holiday season for these kids," said team captain Scott Wray. "I've known Linda and Don Rydstrom for years here and they were kind enough to open their house to the boys for the second straight year. I'm so proud and thankful to have such a great group of teammates who took time out of their day to work on wrapping these gifts. I'm grateful we're in a position where we can help the youth here in Rapid City and hopefully make their holidays a little happier."

This is the second year that Rush players have used their gift wrapping skills in order to provide added holiday cheer to children in the Black Hills. All together, the team was able to wrap over 300 gifts to be distributed in the coming weeks.

"What a great event here today," said veteran forward Damian Surma. "I'm so pumped to have such great teammates who volunteer to so much, especially around the holidays. I hope the end result is a memorable day for these kids who are so deserving of a merry Christmas."
