June 14, 2008 - Arena Football League (1987-2008) (AFL I)
Chicago Rush News Release
The Chicago Rush added some depth in its offensive backfield, signing fullback John Peaua (pronounced pay-ah oo-ah) to a contract through the end of the season, the team announced today.
In addition, the team announced it has lost defensive lineman Demetrios Walker to Arizona after the Rattlers signed Walker from the Rush practice squad to their active roster.
Peaua (6-2, 280, Nevada) had spent the entire season on Philadelphia's Injured Reserve list before being activated and released earlier this week. Before joining the Soul, Peaua spent three seasons with the Arizona Rattlers (2001-2003) and four years in Colorado (2004-2007). He won an ArenaBowl title with the Crush in 2005. He has rushed for 116 yards and 10 touchdowns and recorded 65.5 tackles in 74 games during his eight-year career.
Walker (6-3, 260, Middle Tennessee State) was in his second season with the Rush. He had played in five games this season, recording seven tackles before being released and later re-signed to the team's practice squad.
