Rush activates Williams and Browning, places Brown on IR
March 27, 2004 - Arena Football League (1987-2008) (AFL I)
Chicago Rush News Release
The Chicago Rush has activated defensive specialist Greg Williams and FB/LB Chris Browning from injured reserve, the team announced today. In addition, the Rush placed FB/LB Levelle Brown on injured reserve. Brown suffered a separated right shoulder in Sunday's game against Orlando and is expected to miss between four and six weeks.
Williams returns to the lineup after missing the last five games following surgery to repair a ruptured flexor tendon in his left ring finger. Williams played well in his only 2004 appearance, recording two tackles and an interception in the team's 50-30 season-opening win over Grand Rapids.
Browning will look to make his AFL debut this week against the Fury. He has been on IR the entire season after injuring his ankle during the team's January preseason scrimmage with Detroit.
Kickoff at Allstate Arena for Sunday's game between the Rush (5-1) and the Detroit Fury (2-4) is 2 p.m. The game will not be televised and fans wishing to purchase individual game tickets to the Detroit game, or any Rush 2004 home game, may order by calling Ticketmaster at (312) 559-1212, or by visiting the Ticketmaster Web site at www.ticketmaster.com. Tickets also may be purchased in person at any Ticketmaster outlet or the Allstate Arena box office.
