Philadelphia Soul News Release
PHILADELPHIA â The Philadelphia Soul has announced today they have placed QB Nick Browder on the injured reserve list. Browder suffered a Grade 1 right shoulder separation in last week's game (March 21st) against Colorado.
Browder suffered the injury on the last play of the first half, a one-yard TD run.
Todd Hammel will replace Browder in the starting lineup. Hammel, a 13-year veteran of the AFL was the first QB in league history to pass for 18,000 yards, complete 1,500 passes and throw for 300 TDs.
The Soul also announced that QB Tim Levcik has been signed to the active roster from the practice squad.
Offensive/defensive lineman Corey Mayfield has been activated from the injured reserve list and will be active tomorrow versus the Austin Wranglers. Mayfield, a six-year veteran of the AFL and the second player ever acquired by the Soul will see his first action of the year after suffering a torn meniscus in his left knee prior to the start of the regular season.
The team has also placed WR/DB Terrell Adams on the injured reserve list after he suffered a left ankle sprain in practice earlier this week.
The Soul play on the road this Sunday, March 28th versus fellow expansion team, the Austin Wranglers. Kickoff is set for 3:00 PM ET. The game can be heard live on the internet at www.wnjc1360.com.
