Orlando Predators quarterback Connell Maynor accounted for seven touchdowns Saturday night to lead the Predators (3-4) to a 60-43 victory over the Las Vegas Gladiators (3-5) at the TD Waterhouse Centre in front of 13,149.
Maynor, replacing injured rookie Joe Hamilton, played a near flawless game, completing 14 of 17 attempts for 243 yards and five touchdowns. He also rushed five times for 17 yards and two more scores .
Cory Fleming and Travis McGriff were the big targets for Maynor as Fleming finished with six catches for 112 yards and two touchdowns. McGriff, seeing his first game action of the season, finished with three catches for 42 yards and two scores.
The Predators forced four turnovers on the game, including three first fumbles. They also recovered a kickoff off the net and had a safety.
Orlando rushed for a season-high 71 yards, including 37 by rookie Marlon Moy-Moore. Clint Dolezel threw for 285 yards in a losing effort, with Marcus Nash being his primary target with 153 yards, three touchdowns and nine receptions.
Orlando never trailed after taking advantage of three Gladiators fumbles and exploding for 29 points in the second quarter to take a 36-13 lead going into the half.
