
RSL reserves lose 1-0 to LA Galaxy reserves

SALT LAKE CITY - The Real Salt Lake reserves suffered a 1-0 loss today against the Los Angeles Galaxy reserves at The Home Depot Center in Carson, Calif., dropping its preseason record to 7-4-2 with two games remaining. The lone goal of the match was notched by Los Angeles MF Josh Gardner.
Gardner collected a 40 yard pass from the Galaxy's right midfield and hit a one-time volley from 18 yards out with his left foot to notch the game-winner in the 50th minute. Both team battled throughout the whole game which led to various scoring opportunities that were stifled by tough defensives stands. In the final ten minutes, RSL MF Christian Jimenez and Galaxy FW Herculez Gomez were both issued red cards and ejected from the game for starting a scuffle on the field in the 82nd minute.
RSL continues its final leg of its 2006 preseason training camp at Cal Poly Pomona and will face Chivas USA at The Home Depot Center in Carson, Calif. at 11:00 a.m. MT on Sunday, March 19 with the match closed to the public. RSL's final game of the preseason will be at the Clive Charles Soccer Classic against the University of Portland at the Clive Charles Soccer Complex in Portland, Ore. at 8:30 p.m. MT on Saturday, March 25.
