Kennewick, WA- The Victoria Royals tallied seven consecutive markers to down the Tri-City Americans 7-3 on Saturday night at the Toyota Center.
Notes:
Streak Snapped - The Royals' victory marked the Americans' first loss (7-1-0-0) on home ice this season.
Goals Galore - Victoria's Jared Legien recorded his 10th marker of the season to become the fifth Royal to reach 10 or more goals this season. Victoria sits second in the WHL with the most skaters with 10 or more markers, behind the Moose Jaw Warriors (6).
Seventh Heaven - Of the Royals' 24 games this season, five have seen Victoria tally seven or more goals in a contest. Last season, the Royals completed four contests where the club recorded seven or more markers.
Super Soy - With an assist tonight, Royals' veteran Tyler Soy is only three points (123g-138a) from tying the all-time franchise record for most career points. Former Royal and Chilliwack Bruin Brandon Magee holds the record as he totalled 264 points (113g-151a) over 318 games.
Brickhouse - Victoria netminder Griffen Outhouse's shutout streak lasted 73:38 and dated back to November 14th against the Red Deer Rebels. Last night versus the Spokane Chiefs, Outhouse posted his ninth career WHL shutout, and passed alumnus Coleman Vollrath for the most in Victoria history.
Royal Alum - Americans' blueliner Anthony Bishop played in his first game against his former club. Bishop was traded this past October from the Royals to the Americans for an eighth round pick in 2018 WHL Bantam Draft.
Next Game - The Royals return home to the Save-on-Foods Memorial Centre on Tuesday, November 21st to battle the Lethbridge Hurricanes.
