Reading Royals News Release

Reading, PA - The Reading Royals of the ECHL today announced that the team's weekly coach's show, Royals Radio Recon, will be hosted by Jimmy G's Railroad House and Sports Bar (152 Woodrow Ave., Sinking Spring, PA; 610-678-1177). The show, which will run during the 2011-12 season on Tuesday nights from 6 - 7 pm, will debut in it's new home on Tuesday, October 11.

The show will follow a format similar to seasons past, each week featuring Head Coach Larry Courville or Assistant Coach Tim Branham and a couple of the team's players. The show will be hosted by Royals' broadcaster Mark Thompson and color commentator Pat Richards. The show will be broadcast live on the Royals' new radio home, ESPN Radio 1240 am in Reading. Of course, fans are encouraged to attend and participate with questions and comments-and maybe even a few answers (for which there are always available prizes) to the historically whacked-out Crazy Trivia questions posed by the hosts.

"We're thrilled to partner with the Railroad House as our new home for Radio Recon," said Royals General Manager Mark Wallace. "Jimmy G's provides the perfect venue for our coach's show. It has the ideal atmosphere mixing sports with great, affordable food and drink specials and-our favorite commodity-fun. We know our loyal followers of Radio Recon are going to love the hospitality the Railroad House provides, and our goal is to introduce a whole new group of fans to the live experience of the Tuesday night fun we have with our coach's show."

"We're excited to kick off this new adventure on Tuesday nights with the Royals' coach's show," said Jim Giuffrida, who owns the Railroad House along with his wife, April. "We've been kind of an informal home to many Royals fans and players for a while, so we look forward to expanding our participation with the team. We believe our fan-friendly atmosphere and affordable food and drink specials will be the perfect fit for the attitude and approach of all of the loyal Royals' fans in our community."

The Railroad House, which dates back to the 1800s and was re-opened by Jimmy G and April in 2007, features a menu steeped in American cuisine, offering many traditional favorites at affordable prices. The venue, which hosts live music on many nights, boasts no fewer than twenty-six flat-panel high-definition televisions and two huge high-definition projector televisions which offer sports fans virtually all of the available televised action on any given night.

The Royals will face the Cincinnati Cyclones in the team's 2011-12 home opener on Saturday, October 22, 2011, at 7:05 pm at the Sovereign Center in Reading, Pennsylvania. The team kicks off the season on the road against the South Carolina Stingrays in North Charleston, South Carolina, on Friday, October 14 (7:05 pm). That game, as with all Royals' road games this year, will be televised live courtesy of Royals TV presented by Boscov's Travel and Royal Caribbean Cruise lines in Berks County, Pennsylvania, on BCTV.
