STOCKTON, Calif. - The Stockton Thunder, a two-time recipient of the ECHL "Award of Excellence," has renewed a working agreement with 1280 AM KWSX as the official radio flagship partner of the Thunder. All Thunder games will be available for viewing and listening online via AmericaOne, serving as the official broadband broadcast provider of the ECHL in 2011-12.

"The Stockton Thunder are very pleased to continue a tremendous and valuable relationship with KWSX 1280-AM as our radio flagship partner for the 2011-12 season," said Thunder president Dan Chapman. "Their ability to help us reach fans and business partners throughout the Central Valley and parts of the Bay Area provides an exceptional platform for the growth of Thunder hockey, including one for online listeners and viewers as we finalize our viewing party details."

The Thunder and 1280 AM KWSX continue a partnership to broadcast up to 72 possible regular season road games and additional road Kelly Cup Playoff games for the 2011-12 season. The broadcasts aired in their entirety will begin 15 minutes prior to the opening face-off with the "Thunder Forecast" pre-game show. KWSX, Stockton's News/Talk station featuring "Armstrong and Getty" in the morning, is a growing leader in live Stockton sports coverage, additionally serving as the radio play-by-play home of Stockton Ports minor league baseball and Pacific athletics.

Select Thunder games will also air on KFIV 1360-AM in the event of scheduling conflicts with other sports programming.

Mike Benton returns for his seventh season of Thunder play-by-play. Benton has served behind the broadcast mic since the team's inception and has been selected three times for the ECHL All-Star Game radio broadcast. His work includes contributing reports for the San Jose Sharks and Edmonton Oilers official websites and he has served in webcast color commentary and rinkside reporting roles at the Vancouver Canucks YoungStars Tournament, including coverage at sportsnet.ca.

Derek Eisler, entering his sixth season of Thunder radio color commentary, previously served as Head Coach of the China Sharks of the Asian League from 2007-09 and helped guide the NHL's San Jose Sharks to their first two Stanley Cup Playoff berths in 1994 and 1995, serving as an assistant coach on Kevin Constantine's staff. He continues to serve at the grassroots level as a coach for numerous hockey camps across the Central Valley and Bay Area.

Cam Gore, a native of Toronto, Ontario, enters his third season in the Thunder radio booth as color commentator for select games. His written work of Sharks coverage has been seen at www.hockeybuzz.com and www.fearthefin.com. He contributes with on-air and online NHL reports for the Chris Townsend radio show, heard throughout the Bay Area.

"We're proud to be able to continue our partnership," said Clear Channel Radio vice president and general manager Rich Hawkins. "Get ready for another exciting season of Thunder hockey on KWSX. We're extremely pleased to offer expanded coverage of the Thunder this year. Stay tuned to 1280 for more broadcast details."
