Victoria, BC -- Victoria Royals' forward Phillip Schultz scored two goals in the third period to lead the club to a 5-2 victory over the Prince George Cougars, as the team secured the second seed in the BC Division to guarantee home ice in the first round of the 2019 WHL Playoffs.

Clinched: With the victory tonight, the Royals clinched their eighth straight playoff berth. Victoria became the second BC Division team to secure a spot, behind Vancouver. Additionally, with Kelowna's loss tonight, the Royals have secured second place in the BC Division and home ice in the first round of the WHL Playoffs.
Saturday: After tonight's game, the Royals improved to 6-2-0-0 in their final Saturday home game of the season since they moved to the island in 2011. Furthermore, the team improved to 14-7-1-2 on Saturdays this season, with eight wins on home ice.
Series Finale: Tonight's game marked the final regular season contest between these two clubs. With the victory, the Royals improved to 8-1-0-0 against Prince George this season. Additionally, Victoria holds a record of 7-1-0-0 in the final contest of a season against the Cougars since 2011-12.
