
Rox Lose Late in Willmar, Remain in First Place Late in First Half

Willmar, MN - St. Cloud (18-5) dropped a 4-3 game to Willmar (15-11) on Friday night, but remains four-and-a-half games up in the Great Plains West.
The Rox took the early lead in the second inning as Brady Prewitt (CSU-Pueblo) hit his second home run of the week. Prewitt launched a two-run home run to left to help the Rox out to a 2-0 advantage.
Josh Cowden (BYU) would bring in the Rox' third run of the game with a base hit to center in the third. Cowden finished the day with three hits to pace St. Cloud's bats on Friday.
On the mound, Janzen Keisel (BYU) got the ball and went four innings, allowing just one run. Keisel struck out six batters to increase his team-leading mark to 23 on the summer.
Joe Brandon (Georgia State) also had the strikeout pitch working. Brandon struck out five batters in his three innings on the bump, including striking out the side in order in the sixth.
The Rox remain on the road on Saturday, starting a series with the MoonDogs at ISG Field. First pitch is scheduled for 6:35 pm from Mankato. St. Cloud returns to the Rock Pile for a 4:05 pm match-up with Mankato on Sunday.
