Duluth Huskies News Release
DULUTH, Minn - The Duluth Huskies entered Friday night's matchup against the Waterloo Bucks in search of a series sweep at Wade Stadium. That result was not in the cards as the Bucks prevailed in a tightly contested affair, 4-2.
The scoring got started in the home third when Eduardo Rosario brought home Kristian Campbell via a two-out double. The RBI was Rosario's third of the series and brings his total to 16 on the season.
All of the offense scored on the night for Waterloo (6-18) came in the sixth inning. Following an error by the Huskies (13-12) that led to two runs, Liam Critchett blasted his first home run of the summer to put the Bucks up 4-1.
In the bottom of the ninth, the Huskies sparked a two-out rally headed by a Jonathan Vastine RBI double to get Duluth within two runs. Trent Reddick claimed his first save of the season after he struck out Campbell with the game-tying run at second base.
Waterloo's Keaton Parker pitched a solid six innings of work, allowing one run on six hits combined with a trio of walks and a half-dozen strikeouts.
Devin Dodson got the start for Duluth and threw six innings while allowing four runs (two earned) with three strikeouts and a walk to his credit. Dodson received the loss and witnessed his record drop to 1-2.
The Huskies will continue their homestand Saturday night with a 6:35 pm CT first pitch against the Bismarck Larks.
