Torrington, Conn. - Ryan Plourde (Fairfield) went 3-for-4 with a double, three RBI, two stolen bases, and a run scored as the Torrington Titans cruised past the Brockton Rox, 8-0, on Saturday night at Fuessenich Park.

Torrington (4-2) jumped on the board for three runs in the third inning against Rox starter Vito Perna (Jones County J.C.) to take the early lead. The Titans then exploded for five runs in the eighth against the Brockton bullpen to seal the victory.

Despite striking out six, Perna (0-2) was tagged with the loss for Brockton (2-6) after conceding three runs on five hits and one walk in five innings of work.

Aside from Plourde's offensive outburst, the Titans were paced at the dish by Conor Bierfeldt (Western Connecticut), who went 2-for-5 with a double, two RBI, and two runs scored. Jordan Serena (Columbia) added a pair of RBI and a run scored, while Rich Graef (UMass Amherst) notched an RBI, two stolen bases, and a run scored.
