Rowley earns af2 Offensive Player of the Week Honors

(North Little Rock, AR) - Arkansas Twisters quarterback Kyle Rowley has earned Schutt Offensive Player of the Week honors as announced by the arenafootball2 League Office.

Rowley had a record night against defending ArenaCup Champions Tulsa on July 12th by becoming the first Twisters' player to have a 400 yard game. He completed 32 of 39 pass attempts for 402 yards and nine touchdowns. The Twisters won the game 66-54, clinching home field advantage in the first round of the ArenaCup Playoffs. The Twisters also reached 10 wins for the third straight year.

The Offensive Player of the Year candidate is the af2's top ranked passer with a quarterback rating of 124.67, which is highest in franchise history. He is among the league leaders in several other offensive categories.

Rowley is on pace to challenge some team records that have stood for many years. He is on pace to become just the second quarterback in history to throw for more than 4,000 yards in a season, and he's on pace to challenge the Twisters record for passing touchdowns (85) in a season set by Ricky Hebert in 2002.

The former Brown University quarterback is the first Twisters' player to earn the award this season. Receivers Chris Denney and Jon Schoonover earned Cutters' Catch of the Week honors earlier this season.

Schutt is the official equipment supplier to the af2, and honors the most outstanding player in the league every week.
