BRADENTON, FL - The Dunedin Blue Jays (18-25) scratched three runs across over the first five innings and used six scoreless innings from RHP Chris Rowley (W, 2-0) to take Saturday night's contest against the Bradenton Marauders (21-20).

Rowley enjoyed his longest outing of the season, allowing just three hits in his second start of 2016. He outdueled RHP Colten Brewer (L, 1-6) who fanned a season high eight over 4.1 innings. The Jays started the scoring in the first with 2B Dickie Joe Thon's first home run of the year. CF Anthony Alford collected the first of his three singles in the second and came around to score on an DH L.B. Dantzler groundout. The final run for Dunedin came with the bases loaded in the fifth. LF D.J. Davis walked to score SS Jason Leblebijian.

Rowley started the pitching for Dunedin while RHP Adonys Cardona (H, 5) and LHP Matt Dermody (S, 3) ended it. Cardona walked a pair of hitter in the seventh, and two wild pitches brought home the Marauders only run. From there, Dermody shut down Bradenton hitting, recording seven outs through the final seven hitters. He also induced a ninth inning double play with the tying run at the plate, one of Dunedin's season high four twin killings.

Bradenton and the Jays duel in a Sunday matinee in the third game of this four game series. RHP Francisco Rios faces off against the Marauders' RHP Jose Regalado with first pitch set for 1:00 pm.
