Tampa Bay Rowdies News Release
ST. PETERSBURG, FL - The USL Championship announced the Team of the Week for Week 25 of the season on Tuesday, with the Tampa Bay Rowdies Connor Sparrow and Charlie Dennis both making the cut for their performances in the club's 2-0 win at Miami FC.
Sparrow earns his first Team of the Week selection of the season. The Rowdies keeper put in an outstanding shift in South Florida, producing five saves to secure the shutout against his former club. It's the eighth clean sheet of the year for Sparrow, whose 0.76 Goals Against Average ranks best throughout the league. Sparrow's long pass from out of his own box to JJ Williams in the 36th minute also paved the way for Cal Jennings' opening goal versus Miami.
Dennis makes his eighth appearance on the Team of the Week after notching his ninth goal of the year to seal the victory in Miami. The English midfielder buried his penalty in the 87th minute, capping off a solid shift in which he completed 44 of 50 passes.
After two weeks away from home, the Rowdies return to Al Lang Stadium this Saturday to host Hartford Athletic at 7:30 p.m. ET.
