Minot Minotauros News Release
by Ken Oda
Minot, ND - The Minotauros and the rest of the Central Division has known for a long time that the path to the Robertson Cup goes through Aberdeen this season, now the Tauros know that they will get the first crack at unseating the defending champs. The Robertson Cup Playoffs will kick off with the Central Division's forth seeded Tauros heading to Aberdeen next weekend for Games One and Two of the series on Friday and Saturday nights (full schedule below). This will be the fourth post-season in a row that the two teams will meet, each time the winner has gone on to hoist the Central Cup as the division champion and representative at the Robertson Cup Final Four.
The Tauros enter the series as heavy underdogs to the record setting Wings, though that was the case for the 2018 club as well. That group of Tauros, the sixteenth overall seed in the playoffs, shocked the Central Division's top seeded Wings in the opening round before going on a run to the Robertson Cup Final. That series was a flip of the script from the season before when the Wings were the fourth seed in the Central and knocked off the Tauros in the first round. The 2019 Robertson Cup Playoffs saw the Wings and Tauros meeting in the Central Finals with the Wings ultimately prevailing in four games before continuing on to win the Robertson Cup.
