The six-year wait for the Corpus Christi Rayz return to the post-season has dwindled down to a single day. On Friday Night at 7:05pm at the American Bank Center, the Rayz will host the Arizona Sundogs in Game 1 of the best-of-seven Southern Conference Quarterfinals series. At stake in the series is a trip to the Conference semi-finals and the final eight teams of the 2007 Playoffs, presented by the Corpus Christi Caller-Times. Fans are encouraged to come out and support the Rayz this weekend with games 1 and 2 at the American Bank Center. Game 2 will be played Saturday Night at 8:05pm. Playoff packages are currently available for over 20% off regular ticket price, and individual tickets for all playoff games including this weekend start at just $10. The Corpus Christi Rayz are headed back to the playoffs for the first time since 2001 and you can be there for all the action of post-season hockey for less than regular price. It all kicks off Friday with the opening game of the 2007 post-season. The first 1,000 fans will receive free pucks, courtesy of CenturyTel. CenturyTel will also give away an Apple I-Pod at the game. Early arriving fans will also receive Chaparral St. Grillhouse Gift Cards and city-wide service discount coupons.
On Saturday Night, the Rayz will give away 2,500 rally towels, courtesy of the Rayz, Cintas Uniformed People, Olszewski Stained Glass Studio and Basic Industries of South Texas. It's also the Rayz special "Captains for Courage" jersey auction. The Rayz will auction off Matt Turek's jersey with proceeds benefiting the Hoffen Foundation - helping local youth based organizations in CHL communities. Saturday's game begins at 8:05pm. At both games the Rayz will also be giving away IFC Fight Night tickets for the mixed martial arts event taking place at the American Bank Center on Friday, April 13th.
The Rayz finished as the #3 seeded team in the Southern Conference and will take on the #4 Arizona Sundogs in the opening round. After Saturday the Rayz will travel to Prescott Valley to play the Sundogs for three straight games on April 4th, 6th and 7th. If necessary the Rayz will then return to the American Bank Center for Games 6 and 7 on April 10th and 11th at 7:05pm.
The Rayz are taking an innovative approach to the post-season this year and are lowering ticket prices for the playoffs for season ticket holders. Becoming a playoff package holder will guarantee your same great seat location for every home game that the Rayz play.
