
Roughnecks Take Down Rush, 14-6

Calgary, AB - The Calgary Roughnecks have swept their three-game series with the Saskatchewan Rush after taking down the home side 14-6 Saturday night at Sasktel Centre.
The Roughnecks dominated the first quarter with four straight goals from Jesse King, Tanner Cook, Dan Taylor and Curtis Manning. Solid goaltending from Christian Del Bianco kept the Rush scoreless through the first, before the prairie rivals started the second with two goals in succession. Dan Taylor answered with his second of the night, followed by another Rush goal on the power play. Calgary then went on a three-goal run to finish the first half, with Tanner Cook netting two and Jesse King adding a third.
The Roughnecks continued their streak through the start of the third, with Tanner Cook scoring three goals in succession to take him to six for the evening, a single-game career high for the 24-year-old. Saskatchewan were only able to add three more goals to their tally for the remainder of the game, as Calgary added three more to their total. Jesse King added two more to take his total for the night to four, whilst Dan Taylor netted his third for a hattrick.
Tanner Cook led the team with seven points from six goals and an assist. Jesse King (4g, 3a), Dan Taylor (3g, 3a) and Tyler Pace (6a) all finished with six points. Zach Currier collected a team high 12 loose balls. Christian Del Bianco made 44 stops from 50 shots, with Saskatchewan outshooting Calgary 50-43.
The Calgary Roughnecks are sitting second in the Western Conference with ten wins and four losses, and four games remaining in the regular season. The team takes on the San Diego Seals for their final match up net Friday, March 30th at Pechanga Arena. Fans can catch the game on TSN+ at 8:00pm MST.
