Roughnecks Suffer First Road Loss

Rochester, NY - The Calgary Roughnecks fell 14-12 to the Rochester Knighthawks Saturday night at the Blue Cross Arena at the War Memorial in Rochester, New York, recording their first road loss of the season.

Roughnecks forwards Jeff Shattler (2g, 4a) and Shawn Evans (2g, 4a) each posted six points, while Dane Dobbie tallied four goals for Calgary. Curtis Dickson (2g), Mike Carnegie (1g) and Travis Cornwall (1g) also scored in the loss.

Johnny Powless recorded three goals and added four assists for the Knighthawks, while Stephen Keogh (3g, 3a) had a six-point performance in the win.

Frankie Scigliano made 38 saves for Calgary as both squads fired 53 shots on goal. Geoff Snider scooped up a team-leading 28 loose balls and won 22-of-26 face-offs.

The Roughnecks wrap up the regular-season on Saturday, April 21 when they visit provincial rivals the Edmonton Rush (8:00 p.m., Sportsnet West).
