"Terrance will be one of three quarterbacks competing for the starting position in training camp for the Roughnecks. Following our scouting process, we were very excited about signing Terrance. I believe he has all the tools to become an effective quarterback both throwing and running. Athletically, we see him in a similar way as former Roughnecks quarterback, Jason Johnson. There are many ways that we can utilize him." stated Odessa Roughnecks Head Coach, Chris Williams.
Terrance played in all 11 games for Baylor during the 2004 season and held one start as a redshirt freshman. Terrance held his best game against No.25 Oklahoma State University where he completed 18-of-34 passes for 261 yards, two touchdowns and rushed for 19 yards. He additionally threw a career long 55-yard touchdown pass to Trent Shelton. Parks finished sixth in the Big 12 Conference in passing efficiency (127.6) and he was voted as the Bears' Most Improved Player for the 2004 season according to the Baylor Coaching Staff.
Parks is a native of Lufkin, Texas and a former high school teammate of recently signed Roughnecks RB Jorvorskie Lane at Lufkin High School. As a senior at Lufkin, Parks completed 198-of-366 passes for 2,677 yards and 19 touchdowns. Additionally, Parks rushed for 703 yards and 12 touchdowns on 185 carries in leading the Panthers to a 12-3 record and a trip to the semi-finals of the state playoffs.
The Roughnecks additionally announced that former Permian High School & San Angelo State University running back, Chris Nunez, has been re-signed for the 2010 season.
