Roughnecks Reacquire Former NFL DL Rodney Allen

ODESSA, TX: The Odessa Roughnecks announced on Monday, March 23 that former Green Bay Packers defensive lineman and former IFL (Intense Football League) All-Star honoree, Rodney Allen, has been reacquired for his second season with the Odessa Roughnecks.

Allen (6'2", 295 lbs.) was acquired as a free agent by the Green Bay Packers on August 12 of 2008. Allen received playing time throughout most of the second half in a preseason game versus the Tennessee Titans back on August 28, 2008. He also played in the fourth quarter during a Packers preseason win over the Denver Broncos on August 22, 2008. Allen was officially placed on injured-reserve on September 2, 2008 following an injury to his right hand. He was later released by the Green Bay Packers before the start of the regular season.

In 2008 while with the Odessa Roughnecks, Allen recorded 23.5 total tackles (11.5 TFL) and seven sacks. Allen was a two-year letterman at Kansas University and was an honorable mention selection of the Big 12 Conference in 2005 after registering 18 total tackles (6.5 TFL) and one sack. Allen is expected to join the Odessa Roughnecks on Monday and begin training camp on Tuesday, March 24.

ROUGHNECKS SEASON TICKET HOLDER PARTY SET FOR FRIDAY, MARCH 27 -

The Roughnecks will be holding their Season Ticket Holder Party on Friday, March 27 from Buffalo Wild Wings in Odessa. Buffalo Wild Wings is located at 4241 N. Grandview Avenue. The party will begin at 5:30 p.m. with Roughnecks front office staff members, players, coaches & dancers to be in attendance. Season ticket holders will have the opportunity to come by and pick up their tickets along with other gifts that are included with the season ticket holder package. Fans can meet and greet the Roughnecks before their first game versus the Abilene Ruff Riders on Monday, March 30.
