West Texas Roughnecks News Release

Odessa, TX: With four victories on the road and just two at home, the Odessa Roughnecks boast a 6-0 record but long to spend more time in the friendly confines of the Ector County Coliseum. Starting this Saturday, June 10th and for two additional Saturdays, June 17th and 24th, the Roughnecks will host IFL opponents and attempt to grow the current 24 game regular season winning streak dating back to July of 2004.

First up on June 10th is the CenTex Barracudas, a team that the Roughnecks narrowly defeated just 5 days ago by a score of 63-59. Last weeks victory marked the Roughnecks second win versus the Barracudas, both taking place in Belton. Odessa hopes that home field advantage will play a role in giving the team a sweep over CenTex in the 2006 regular season. The first 1,000 fans in attendance will receive a complimentary replica football courtesy of Key Energy Services and thanks to Academy Sports, the amazing BMX Bike Show will take place at halftime.

Saturday, June 17th will feature the first-ever meeting between the Odessa Roughnecks and the Laredo Lobos. Laredo is currently in the IFL basement but has played very competitively nearly every game this season. The first 1,000 folks joining the Roughnecks for this event will receive a complimentary Roughnecks ball cap provided by Ameripride Linen & Apparel Services.

The three-week home stand will be completed on Saturday, June 24th when the Corpus Christi Hammerheads make their lone visit to Odessa this year. The Roughnecks earned their largest victory of the season in Corpus defeating the Hammerheads by a score of 56-35. This game will provide the first 1,000 fans through the turnstiles with a complimentary Roughnecks Tee-Shirt from Cable-One, West Texas Imaging, and Clear Channel Radio.

PLAYERS OF THE WEEK: Both the Offensive and Defensive IFL player of the week honors have been awarded to members of the Roughnecks. A candidate every game on the offensive side of the ball, wide receiver Derin Grahm's 164 yards on 13 catches, along with 4 touchdowns made him an easy selection for IFL Offensive Player of the Week. A close second in the voting was Roughnecks kicker Ezequiel Averalo with two field goals in excess of 50 yards on his birthday last Saturday.

In his first ever start for Odessa, defensive back Aaron Dunklin grabbed not only three interceptions but also Defensive Player of the Week honors. Dunklin added three tackles to his solid start with the Roughnecks.

Team players and coaches are available to members of the media by calling 332-PASS. For further information on these or any other Roughnecks topics, call the teams office at (432) 332-PASS (7277) or log on to www.RoughnecksIFL.com.
