
Roughnecks ink two Wide Receivers

ODESSA, TX. Odessa Roughnecks sign two more in the quest for the Cup. "Head Coach Chris Williams is building this franchise once again to be the best in the league." stated Owner Tommy Benizio. The addition of these two will help solidify the core of the offense.
Andy Bertrand- 6'2" 200 (WR) North Carolina State
Andy Bertrand, a Miami, Florida, native, started his collegiate career at North Carolina State under Had Coach Chuck Amato. Following his junior season he transferred to McNeese State University. Playing in only 7 games his senior season he had 37 catches for 620 yards and 4 touchdowns. Andy entered the 2005 NFL draft highly rated. After a brief stint with the New York Giants Andy comes to Odessa to hone his craft to attempt to return to the highest level.
Johnny Tyson- 6'1" 195 (WR) Texas State
Johnny started his career at the University of Houston. He was very productive in 2003 at Houston with 23 receptions for 523 yards and 4 touchdowns. He then transferred to Texas State for his senior year and was an Honorable Mention All-Southland Conference performer. Then he signed with the Austin Wranglers of the Arena Football League in 2005. He was released late in 2005 due to a severe hamstring injury. Johnny will be coming to Odessa with the hopes of proving that he is over his injuries and return to the AFL.
