ODESSA, TX. The Odessa Roughnecks had their hands full on Saturday night when they faced the Corpus Christi Hammerheads in the second round of the playoffs. Odessa had already faced the Hammerheads twice this season, but knew this time would be different. "Once you play a team for the third time the element of surprise is not as effective. We knew coming into the game it would be a dog fight, but we still felt like we could come out and get the win." Coach Chris Williams remarked.
With only 5 days remaining until the third round the Roughnecks waste no time in preparing for a Tri-Cities team that knocked off the other undefeated powerhouse of the NIFL the Everett Hawks.
The Roughnecks will face Tri-Cities this Sat. July 23; the tailgate party will begin at 5:00 PM with kickoff following at 7:00 PM.
