West Texas Roughnecks News Release
ODESSA, TX. : Roughnecks sign WR Thomas Parker 6'2" 200 lbs. of Florida Atlantic for the 2008 season. After being highly recommended to Odessa by CFL scouts, Thomas came on with the Roughnecks in 2007 with great expectations. He was just starting to live up to those expectations after playing in 5 games and making 31 catches for 428 yards and 4 touchdowns for the Roughnecks. Even though he was new to the game of indoor football he was ranked among the best receivers in the IFL with 85.6 yards per game receiving average. Thomas' season was cut short by family issues and a hamstring injury in 2007. "I have a lot of respect for the ability that Thomas Parker has. He was sent to us by the CFL, and we think that he has the ability to get off of this level soon. While here he must put together a full productive season for this to happen" said Coach Chris Williams.
Roughnecks roster holds 20 as of today. This is the quickest that the Roughnecks have had this many people in place. When Williams and the coaching staff mean they are bringing on the heat, they aren't playing! The roster is as follows:
