West Texas Roughnecks News Release

ODESSA, TX. If there is one thing that successful insurance agents preach, it's to "Be Ready!". As of this afternoon, not only the likes of Odessa Roughnecks newest Corporate Partners, Houston and Lisa Copeland, insurance gurus, are using this philosophy, but the team itself will be asking the community to do the very same thing.

"Be Ready!" will be the young franchises team and marketing slogan for the inaugural season beginning this May. "We wanted a slogan that captured the speed and excitement of our indoor football product.", explained team president Tommy Benizio, "We want fans to remember to wait for halftime before heading to the concession stands to buy a soda and hot dog because they are liable to miss three touchdowns if they don't!" A first-rate radio jingle is being created based on the slogan and a visual icon is in the process of being perfected for print and television advertising purposes.

While the Roughnecks clearly want fans to be ready: for high scoring, physical football, to catch and keep a game ball, for the excitement, to have a player land in their lap, and more, they also want local sports media, required due to employment to attend the games to...you guessed it...Be Ready! For this reason, the franchise teamed up with Odessa's top Insurance agents, Houston & Lisa Copeland. Together, they have secured one-day life insurance policies for these important people whom the team fears will not survive the home opener scheduled for Saturday, May 8th, 2004. This policy will protect the media should their hearts fail them during what is certain to be one the most exciting sports experiences of their lives. The people of the Permian Basin should now consider themselves warned that if this experienced group of sports experts are at high risk of falling to the electric atmosphere of Roughnecks home games...no one is safe! So Be Ready for May 8th!

With the announcement of the May 8ths home opener being made here today, the complete schedule will follow the first of next week. Season tickets to these life changing (and life threatning) events are on sale now at great prices. Call the team's offices at (432) 332-PASS (7277) or log onto the website at www.OdessaIFL.com for more information.
