
Roughnecks Add Experience And Announce Tryouts

ODESSA, TX. : The Odessa Roughnecks have signed Defensive End Patrick Lindsey. A native of Crane, Texas, Patrick Lindsey (6'4" 255) comes to the Roughnecks after playing part of 2006 and all of 2007 with the Amarillo Dusters of the Arena Football 2. As both a Receiver and Jack Linebacker, Lindsey started 8 games and caught 5 touchdowns in '06 before being cut down for the season due to injury. In '07 he played in 15 games making 36 tackles from the defensive end position.
Lindsey was a 3 year starter as a Tight End at West Texas A&M and made the transition to Defensive End his senior year (2005). He achieved 1st team All Conference honors as a Tight End in 2003 and as Team Captain in 2005 he lead West Texas A&M to the Lonestar Conference championship. Even before his outstanding college career Lindsey was a standout player at Crane High School. As a senior he was named the District 4-3A Offensive MVP at Tight End and First-Team All-District Defensive End.
"Patrick is a quality indoor football player with good experience and production. He is going to be a great addition to the defense. I have always said that the best players from this region should be playing for us. I have wanted Patrick here for a while and we finally got him."stated Head Coach Chris Williams.
Tryout Announcement -
The Odessa Roughnecks will hold two open tryout dates in the next several weeks at two different locations starting Saturday, February 23, 2008 at 11:00 am at the Jacksonville Indoor Sports Facility located at 3650 Phillips Hwy in Jacksonville, Florida. The second tryout is scheduled the following Saturday, March 1, 2008 at 9:30 am at Abilene High School Football Practice Fields at 2800 N. 6th Street in Abilene, Texas.
"Jacksonville Indoor Sports is a great looking indoor sports facility. We are proud that they are allowing us to use the facility and hopefully we can find ourselves a few players in the talent rich state of Florida. I am also excited about the fact that Coach Warren over at Abilene High has given us the use of his facility. Abilene is another hot spot for football talent and I hope we can get our hands on some good players there as well." stated Head Coach Chris Williams.
