Rough Riders host successful 'Fan Appreciation Night'

Plainview, NY (April 12, 2006) - The Long Island Rough Riders, members of professional soccer's USL 2nd Division, recently hosted a special 'Fan Appreciation Night' for families, children, and fans of all ages at the Rough Riders Indoor Training Center at the Mitchel Field Athletic Complex in Uniondale, New York.

The Rough Riders welcomed more than 700 children and fans of all ages to this exciting, fun-filled event. At the event the Rough Rider organization unveiled their 2006 roster and new coaching staff. Each player and coach was introduced and given a hero's welcome, with high fives from hundreds of cheering fans. Following the team introductions, young fans were treated to a special preview of Nickelodeon's new soccer themed series, "Just for Kicks." Along with the preview, attendees received Nickelodeon and Rough Rider giveaways.

The indoor facility, which is regularly used for training and soccer events, was converted to a soccer themed clubhouse with a fun carnival-like atmosphere. Following the preview young fans had the chance to meet and interact with professional players. The Rough Rider professional players signed hundreds of autographs and took many photos with young fans.

"Our 'Fan Appreciation Night' was a great success and was a perfect lead-in to our home-opener on April 22nd. We also appreciate that Nickelodeon selected us to be one of the venues for a preview of 'Just for Kicks.' Nickelodeon's involvement was instrumental to the success of this event. We had an enormous turnout and all the kids and families who came out enjoyed themselves. A night like this is very important to us; it allows us to introduce our team to our fans and grow as an organization," said Rough Rider President and Co-Owner Peter Zaratin.
