Adidas to help kick off Rough Riders opener

Plainview, NY (March 27, 2006) - The Long Island Rough Riders, members of professional soccer's USL 2nd Division, are pleased to announce their opening day of the 2006 season will be Adidas Night at Mitchel Athletic Complex. With the support of Adidas and the Massapequa Soccer Shop, the Rough Riders will be giving out a free Adidas soccer ball to the first 2,000 paid attendees to their match against the Pittsburgh Riverhounds.

"We have received tremendous support from the Adidas organization, and specifically our representative, Mr. Matt Ruggerio" said Rough Riders Team President Peter Zaratin. "Our entire program, including our professional team and all 26 teams of our Jr. Rough Riders program, are proud to wear the Adidas brand. We see this event as another sign of what they are doing for soccer here in the Long Island area, and a great way to kick off our 2006 season."

The Rough Riders, with a 20-game regular season, will host 9 games at their home field at Mitchel Athletic Complex in Uniondale, NY. Their 10th home date will be played at Stony Brook University on Wednesday-June 7, 2006. The team will open at home on April 22nd when they take on the Pittsburgh Riverhounds.
