Richmond Roosters News Release
RICHMOND, IN âThe Richmond Roosters and Whitewater Broadcasting announced today at a joint press conference at McBride Stadium the formation of the Richmond Roosters Radio Network.
All Roosters games will now be carried on the new flagship station of the Richmond Roosters, 1490 AM WKBV of Richmond. Games will also be broadcast on WZZY-FM, Star 98.3 out of Winchester and 1580 AM WCNB out of Connersville.
The intial agreement is for three seasons. All advertising on broadcasts will be funneled through the Richmond Roosters office with Whitewater Broadcasting taking a supporting role in this effort.
"This move really helps us expand our marketing area." stated Richmond Roosters President Allen Brady during the press conference. "The area that we have been wanting to touch with our marketing efforts was very tough to do with one station. Now we have tremendously expanded our reach.
"This move really helps us keep the title of being the number one source in Richmond and Wayne County for local programming and local sports coverage." stated Rick Duncan, Whitewater Broadcasting Operations Manager.
Brady continued "The network allows our games to be picked up in eight counties and potentially touch one-third of a million people. We now have an oppurtunity to take full advantage of our off season to promote the Roosters and our sponsors to our fans.
The 11th Frontier League season is scheduled to start in May of 2003.
