Roosters' Allen Brady Responds To Palladium-Item Article

January 20, 2005 - Frontier League (FL)
Richmond Roosters News Release

"We are disappointed that the Richmond Parks Board found it necessary to negotiate with the Richmond Roosters in the newspaper instead of the conference room. We believe that everyone would have been better served by a different approach.

The article published today in the Palladium-Item was partially correct. The Richmond Roosters do owe an amount of money to the Richmond Parks Department. The amount stated and other information is not correct.

There have been ongoing conversations and good faith negotiations with the City of Richmond for many months, though not with the Parks Board. Since 1995, we have discussed these issues with the current and past Mayors, the Parks Superintendent and the current and past City Attorneys. There was no intention to by-pass the Parks Board. They have never been our point of contact for discussions involving the City of Richmond and the Roosters.

Negotiations with the city continue even today. We have had discussions with the city attorney this morning and this afternoon and we will continue to work with the administration and the Parks Board to bring this situation to a mutually satisfactory solution. We have every confidence that this issue will be resolved fairly and rapidly."
