West Texas Roughnecks News Release
ODESSA, TX. : In an effort to help sell out the Roughnecks game versus the Fairbanks Grizzlies on Saturday, June 21st, 2008, the Odessa Roughnecks, Medical Center Hospital and Kicks 99 FM have announced today that Mike from the Kicks 99 Morning Show and his son Eric will be camping out on the roof of the Ector County Coliseum from today's date to game time at 7:11 P.M. on Saturday, June 21st. Mike and Eric have pledged to remain on the roof of the Ector County Coliseum until the game has been officially sold out.
Once again, if the game sells out the Roughnecks will donate a $10,000 check to the Children's Miracle Network. As of today, 2,784 tickets have been sold and only 2,305 remain to be purchased for this remarkable event to be considered a complete success. Mike of the Kicks 99 Morning Show stated, "Our family was so thankful to the Children's Miracle Network when our son was born prematurely. We hope that living on the roof of the coliseum for the next few days will bring attention to the residents of the Permian Basin to come and attend the game."
The first 1,000 fans at the game on June 21st will receive a complimentary 2008 Roughnecks team photo thanks to Anderson Real Estate, and complimentary "back-packs" thanks to Medical Center Hospital. "We are so excited to have Mike and Eric on the roof to help support such a great event. The Miracle on 42nd Street is a great way for the Roughnecks and MCH to give back to those that are less fortunate." stated Team President and Owner Tommy Benizio.
