Rome Renegades News Release


ROME, Ga. – After four straight weeks on the road, the Renegades had an impressive return to Rome, which included many firsts for the organization. It was the first Renegades game free of injury, and the first time for the team to win twice in a row. Sunday night's victory was also the first start for quarterback Bo Bartik who was 20 for 35 with 198 yards and three touchdowns.

The Renegades win against Fayetteville was sealed with a great kicking game by Brian Tracy Tracy was 7 for 12 with a 49 yard long field goal in the first quarter, and it was the 13 yard kick in over time that clenched the Renegades victory. Clenton Rafe also had a great game for the Renegades offense. He led all receivers with 7catches for 96 yards with one touchdown.

Rome's defense was just as strong. Leading the team in tackles was Joe Killins with 9 and one sack. Both Rey Murphy and Vernon Turner had 2 interceptions each. Eugene Phillips also had two sacks.

The Renegades will be back on the road this week to take on the Montgomery Maulers. Kick-off is on Saturday at 7:30 p.m. central time/8:30 p.m. eastern time. The next home game for the Renegades will be Friday, May 20 as they play the Lake land Thunderbolts at 7 p.m.
