
Rome Frenzy Down The Cape Cod Barons
January 15, 2011 - Federal Prospects Hockey League (FPHL) News Release
The Rome Frenzy beat the Cape Cod Barons 5-2 at J.F. Kennedy Civic Arena. Rome's Tibor Varga started off the night with a shorthanded goal assisted by Anthony Monte. Cape Cod evened up the score at the end of the first period with a goal from Kyle Frieday, assists going to Quinn McIntosh and Skylar Christoffersen.
The second period got underway with a goal for the Barons from Dustin Skinner assisted by Brian Kolb and David Lawrence. The Frenzy answered back with two more goals, the first shorthanded by Monte assisted by Varga and Kyle Roberts and one by Ken Blum, assisted by Jose Vasquez.
Blum started off the third period with a goal assisted by Varga and Jeffery Armando, making the score 4-2. Finishing off the scoring for the night was Armando assisted by Vincent Nucci and Varga. Richard Scarsella played in net for Rome stopping 28 out of 30 shots. Cape Cod's goalie Chris Testa stopped 37 out of 42. The game's three stars were all from the Rome Frenzy. The first was Tibor Varga with a total of 4 points for the night. The second was Ken Blum, who had 2 points. The third star was goalie Richard Scarsella who played a great game in net for Rome.
The Rome Frenzy's next game is on the road, Sunday January 16th against the 1000 Island Privateers.
