Rollers prove rumors wrong

Rockford Fury News Release

Hammond, IN. "Rumores of the Hammond Rollers demise have been greatly exaggerated," said Northwest Times correspondent Bob Moulesong after attending the Rollers 3rd Tryout Camp, most most successful thus far with over 35 players tryout out. Coach and GM Kenny Battle added, "We are up and running, our staff is in place, we're in good shape for our first season."

"We don't want to be thought of as only a Hammond team," he continued. "We want the whole community to think of us as their pro team. We're working on ways to attract all of Northwest Indiana and Northeast Illinois to the Rollers."

The new Hammond Rollers web site (www.hammondrollers.com) has had over 115,000 hits already from throughout the Region. The Rollers will open against Peoria on Sunday, November 5th. For more information, visit www.hammondrollers.com or www.abalive.com.

Note: OurSports Central no longer actively covers the American Basketball Association (ABA) as a professional league due in part to its inability to publish and play a schedule and the transitory nature of many of its teams.
