MYRTLE BEACH, SC - The Myrtle Beach Pelicans, Class A-Advanced affiliate of the Texas Rangers, got back to their winning ways Monday, taking down the Wilmington Blue Rocks 2-0 in front of 2,681 at TicketReturn.com Field at Pelicans Ballpark.

The Pelicans got the scoring going in the second with a trip of singles by Tomas Telis, Jeremy Williams and Teodoro Martinez. The last of the hits scored Telis for a 1-0 lead.

Still in front by the 1-0 margin, the Pelicans struck again with a Hanser Alberto homerun, his sixth of the year and his second with the Pelicans. The shot made it 2-0.

On the mound Randol Rojas tossed his best game of the season, firing a career long seven shutout innings. Rojas allowed four singles while striking out six. His ERA fell to 2.15 and the righty earned his team best eighth win.

For Wilmington Matt Ridings went six innings and allowed two runs on six hits. The loss was his first since a promotion from Low-A Kane County.
