MEDFORD, OR - After splitting the first two games, the Rogues and BlueJackets faced off in a close, game three at Harry and David Field. Strong pitching helped keep Kitsap scoring at bay while Medford was able to take game three, and the series, 4-1.
The Rogues were the first to strike, in the second inning off a single by Nathan Etheridge, making it a 1-0 ballgame after two. Two more runs crossed in the fourth, one off a single by catcher Tim Lichty then after Tony Roque reached base on a walk. They were both brought in off a bases clearing double by Derron Davis, extending Medford's lead to 3-0. Kitsap was finally able to score one run in the seventh but the Rogues put another insurance run on the board and were able to beat the BlueJackets, 4-1.
Derron Davis was very strong at the plate, going two for four, with one RBI, improving his batting average to .317. Tim Lichty also had a good showing at the dish, reaching base in two of his four at-bats, scoring one run. His batting average now sits at .250.
