Rogues Fall to Bells in Game Three

MEDFORD, OR - After two big wins over the Bells in games one and two, the Rogues could not plate enough runs in game three and fell 9-4. Bellingham started scoring early and late runs by Medford were not enough. The Rogues did take the series, 2-1 before they head up to Yakima to take on the Yakima Valley Pippins in another series.

The Bells plated runs starting in the first inning and continued scoring through the middle innings. The Rogues were finally able to get on board after Danny Mayer reached base on a lead-off triple then was brought in by an RBI single by Billy Fredrick. Danny Mayer brought in two runs in the eighth inning off an RBI single to make it a 9-4 ballgame. The Rogues could not score any more runs in the ninth and fell to the Bells, 9-4.

Billy Olson got the nod for the Rogues and went five innings, giving up seven hits, six runs, struck out one and walked one. Daniel Ferrell and Aaron Schwark also made appearances on the mound for Medford. Reagan Todd got the start and the win for the Bells, going six innings, giving up two runs on two hits, walking two and striking out two.

Billy Fredrick was strong at the plate for the Rogues, having one hit in four plate appearances. He brought in one run for the Rogues and also scored one himself. Fredrick's batting average improves to .319. Fredrick also sets a franchise record for his 12-game hit streak. Danny Mayer went two-for-four with a triple and two RBIs and one run scored. His batting average now sits at .333.

The Rogues head up north to face the Pippins in Yakima for a three game, weekday series, with the first game Monday at 7:05pm.
