
Rogues Fall in Game One against AppleSox

MEDFORD, OR - The Rogues fell to the AppleSox in Wenatchee Sunday, after trailing early in the game.
Cable Wright got the start for Medford, his second of the season. He gave up three hits and one run in the bottom of the first inning and then two more runs in the fourth, one of which was an RBI triple by Drew Helmstadter.
Rogues bats were quiet until the fourth inning when four Rogues reached base and Nathan Etheridge was able to cross the plate off an RBI single by Stefan Panayioutou. Heading into the fifth inning, the Rogues were trailing 1-3.
Medford was able to put another run on the board in the fifth inning after Daniel Patzlaff reached base on a double, and then was brought in by an RBI single by Etheridge, cutting the AppleSox's lead to 1 run.
In the bottom of the fifth inning, Wenatchee scored three more runs, off of walks and singles. Jamie Flynn came in relief for Wright in the fifth and only gave up one run.
The Rogues were able to score one more run in the sixth inning after T.K. McWhertor reached base off a double then was able to score the Rogues' third run of the game, making it a 3-6 game heading into the seventh. Kade Wagner was the relief pitcher for the Rogues in the seventh and had problems finding the strike zone. He walked three, loading the bases and gave up one more run.
Wenatchee led Medford going into the ninth inning 3-8 and despite putting two runners on the base path, the Rogues were unable to answer and lost their fourth straight game to the AppleSox.
The AppleSox and Rogues play two more game in Wenatchee, Tuesday and Wednesday night, at 7:05pm.
