
Rogues Complete Sweep over Cowlitz

MEDFORD, OR - The Medford Rogues completed a three game sweep against the visiting Cowlitz Black Bears tonight at Harry and David Field by a score of 10-3. The win give the Rogues an 11-10 league record and a tighter grip on second place in the South Division. Cowlitz heads home with a 9-12 league record.
The Rogues came out strong offensively jumping to a 3-0 lead after the third inning. Cowlitz clawed one back in the fifth but the Rogues bats were hot as they added another two in the fifth followed by three in the sixth. Outfielder Dan Mayer's two run home run in the eight sealed the win for the Rogues.
Pitcher A.J Dean led the Rogues defense with his five innings on the mound. Dean gave up four hits for one run which was earned while walking one and striking out two and holds a season ERA for 5.09. Jalen Fuhriman, Jamie Flynn, Dustin Hughes, Justin Mulvaney, and DJ Wilson all pitched for the Rogues tonight.
Mayer led the offensive charge with four at bats for three hits, one run, five RBI's and one home run. Mayer's batting average for the season improves to .361. Short stop Daniel Patzlaff had two appearances for one hit, three runs, and one RBI. Patzlaff's season batting average stands at .186.
Cowlitz's pitcher Emilio Foden pitched 4.1 innings giving up seven hits for five runs, four of which were earned, while walking three and striking out none. Foden's ERA for the season stands at 3.22 and he recorded the loss for the night. Dean picked up the win for the night.
The Rogues head to Bend next to face the South Division leading Elks in a three game series. The Rogues return home on Monday July 6th for a three game home series against the Corvallis Knights.
